Participants in the Graduate Certificate program will gain in-depth knowledge of mathematics pedagogy and content and use that knowledge to assess and support students needing targeted math intervention, to examine and implement research-based coaching practices, and to promote the implementation of high quality mathematics learning and teaching in their schools.
All courses may be offered either completely online or using a blended format, with a combination of face-to-face class meetings and online study.
Completion of this certificate requires five UMF courses:
- EDU 594 Foundations of Mathematics Coaching
- EDU 528 Foundations of Mathematics Intervention
- EDU 596 Professional Learning and Mentorship for Mathematics Education
- EDU 525 Developing Formative Assessment Practices in the Mathematics Classroom
- EDU 524 Advanced Methods for Mathematics Teaching
