The University of Maine Farmington is committed to the safety and well-being of its students, faculty, staff and visitors. When deciding whether to close the campus due to extreme weather conditions, university officials consider many factors, including the condition of roads and streets on campus and in the surrounding areas, power outages, weather forecasts and other safety factors. University officials also consult with local and state public safety and emergency management agencies to make the most informed decisions possible. We trust that all members of the university community will use their best judgment about travel during inclement weather and communicate with faculty or supervisors about their situations.
