Want to Compete For Us?

Think you’ve got what it takes to compete for UMF? Fantastic! Let’s get the conversation started.

Club Sports

If you want to compete in sports at the collegiate level but just can’t make the time commitment varsity athletics requires, then Club Sports may be a perfect option for you. Club Sports are student-led sports teams or sports-related organizations. Some Club Sports teams compete against other colleges and universities — others do not.

Current UMF Club Sports That Compete Against Other Schools

  • Cheering (co-ed)
  • Rugby (men’s)
  • Rugby (women’s)
  • Ultimate Frisbee / Disc (co-ed, men’s women’s)

Current UMF Club Sports That Do Not Compete Against Other Schools

  • Dance Team
  • Equestrian
  • Swim Club (co-ed)

Intramurals

Intramural Sports are where you compete against (and play with) other Farmington students, usually after classes or in the evenings.

Most intramurals here are co-ed and they’re a great way to get to know other students and take a well-deserved break from the books. Student participation in intramurals is big. And the fun is huge.

Fitness & Recreation Center

Open 7 days a week, year-round, the on-campus UMF Fitness & Recreation Center is the hub of student health, activity — and outdoor recreation through its Mainely Outdoors adventures program.

  • Fully-equipped weight room with free weights and machines
  • A large cardio fitness area with equipment
  • Three multi-purpose courts
  • 1/8 mile walking/jogging track
  • 25-yard swimming pool

It also offers group fitness classes for all levels and abilities (step-aerobics, spinning, yoga, pilates, water workout, etc.), professional fitness trainers, swim lessons, and more. It’s also the home of our popular Intramural Sports program.

The Fitness & Recreation Center is also the home of UMF Club Sports and Intramurals and right next door is the UMF Mainely Outdoors building / program.
