| Bio | Merit “Buzz” Bean joins the UMF staff after coaching both the Alpine and Nordic teams at Mt. Abram High School for more than 30 years, where he has always enjoyed a successful teaching career. Bean’s teams have won numerous Conference and State Championships. He has been the President of the Maine Ski Coaches Association for more than 30 years and served as the liaison to the Maine Principals Association Ski Committee. Bean was also involved in the formation of the New England Nordic Ski Association and served as head of the Junior Committee, which led him to be a part of the Athlete Development Committee. |
