Club Sports & Intramurals
Of course, UMF offers varsity athletics, but if you're interested in competing in other sports at the collegiate level, then one of our Club Sports may be a perfect option for you.
Club Sports are student-led sports teams or sports-related organizations. Some UMF Club Sports teams compete against other colleges and universities — others do not. Many of our Club Sports have extremely loyal fans and supporters and games and matches tend to be very well-attended.
While many Club Sports at Farmington have long traditions, the offerings vary due to the changing interest, skill and commitment of the student participants. Currently, most of our Club Sports are highly organized and also operate under the rules and regulations of their own sports' national, regional and local governing bodies.
Current Club Sports That Compete Against Other Schools
- Rugby (men's & women's teams)
- Ultimate Frisbee (men's & women's teams)
- Ice Hockey
- Dance Team
- Ski & Outing Club
- Swim Club
If you don't see a particular Club Sport that interests you, consider starting a new one! That's how each UMF Club Sport began in the first place. Here, we encourage students to follow their passion.
Intramurals: Competitive Fun — With Other UMF Students
Intramurals are sports activities where you compete against other UMF students, usually weekdays after classes or in the evening.
Most intramurals at UMF are co-ed and they're a great way to get to know other students and take a well-deserved break from the books.
Some intramurals at Farmington take place outdoors, some indoors, and others in the water (indoors at our Fitness & Rec Center).
The Intramural Board dreams up these activities and offers more than 25 different sports and tournaments throughout the year. The Intramural program is based at the UMF Fitness & Recreation Center.
